Classes take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week. Students are highly encouraged to participate in the full three-day schedule, however they may also choose to register for a two-day or single-day schedule.
Students in our Upper Elementary age range have the opportunity to choose between three classes each period. Our classes provide a variety of focuses, including STEM, art and creativity, humanities, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Exploring these topics with a hands-on, collaborative approach to learning fosters a deep understanding of essential concepts.

Cabinet of Curiosities
Long before modern museums were built, world explorers, ancient scientists, and brave travelers gathered their favorite treasures into real-life "Cabinets of Curiosities"—special rooms or wooden boxes filled with strange fossils, secret codes, ancient coins, and mysterious everyday objects! From unicorn horns to dragon teeth, skeleton keys to sacred scrolls this class explores all things curious throughout history. Students will have the opportunity to create their own “Cabinets” with items that amaze and inspire them.

Zombies, flying cars, invisibility, mind reading, robot helpers, underwater cities, and life on Mars may sound like science fiction, but could they become reality? Students will investigate the real science behind superpowers, futuristic transportation, artificial intelligence, unusual disasters, future humans, and space exploration. They’ll put ideas to the test, tackle design challenges, and separate scientific possibilities from movie magic. Discover what’s already being developed, what might become part of our future, and what could remain firmly in the world of fiction!

Medieval Times
Step into a world of knights, kingdoms, and epic adventures! In this fun, hands-on course, students become knights-in-training, each representing a medieval kingdom. Along the way, they’ll design shields, learn the code of chivalry, explore maps, and take on exciting challenges to protect their realm. Every class is filled with storytelling and creative activities that bring the Middle Ages to life. Inspired by real history as well as legendary figures like King Arthur, students will explore castles, feasts, myths and legends, and even survive events like the Black Death.

The ocean is home to animals that can do things you never imagined! In Remarkably Bright Creatures, students meet fascinating creatures such as octopuses, dolphins, and whales and explore the surprising ways they communicate, solve problems, use tools, and work together. Fossil Hunters
Calling all dinosaur detectives! Travel back in time to explore mighty dinosaurs, amazing prehistoric creatures, and the clues they left behind. Students will examine fossils, compare teeth and footprints, and discover how scientists piece together the past. Use prehistoric evidence to uncover what ancient animals ate, how they moved, and what their world might have looked like. From giant land animals to creatures that swam in ancient seas, there’s a prehistoric world waiting to be uncovered!

Young Minds in Ancient Times
What was it like to be your age in the ancient world? In Young Minds in Ancient Tiimes, students will explore what life was really like for kids their age in ancient civilizations around the world. From hunting and gathering in prehistoric times to going to school in Ancient Egypt or training in Ancient Sparta, each class brings history to life through stories, games, and imagination. This hands-on, activity-filled course invites students to step into the shoes of young people from the past. Through simple roleplay, art projects, and creative play, students will experience daily life in ancient cultures in a fun and meaningful way.

Art Escape
Each week, young artists become detectives as they solve a new art-themed mystery through creative projects, puzzles, and challenges. From stolen masterpieces to ancient curses, students will explore drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media while using problem-solving skills to crack the case. Every class is a new adventure where creativity holds the key! Students embark on a new escape-room-style adventure while exploring a variety of artistic techniques and projects. Sports Lab
Get ready to play, build, and discover the science behind sports! Students will explore how motion, balance, bounce, and accuracy affect everything from a perfect shot to an unexpected rebound. Along the way, we’ll join in March Madness fun, design team jerseys or logos, and learn how nutrition and hydration help athletes perform. Our featured project challenges students to become inventors and game designers as they create, test, and improve an original outdoor game for classmates to play. Teamwork, creativity, and good sportsmanship bring it all together. No athletic experience needed!

In this class, students will learn how to draw their favorite Disney characters through step-by-step instructions. Students will explore basic drawing techniques, shapes, and details while developing their artistic skills and creativity. We will learn how to draw princesses, villains, and even sidekicks! This class will build students’ confidence while bringing their favorite Disney characters to life!

Enchanted Kingdoms
Step into a world of castles, knights, and mythical heroes! In Enchanted Kingdoms, Upper Elementary students will explore Arthurian legends, medieval life, European myths, knighthood, ladyhood, and the code of chivalry. Along the way, students will design their own coats of arms and castles, create original medieval legends, and develop their own codes of honor. Through creative crafts, exciting challenges, and a journey toward knighthood (or ladyhood!), students will discover what it meant to live with legendary courage, honor, and noble character in the middle ages.

Ever wonder what makes a storm form, where the rain will fall, or how meteorologists know what weather is coming? In Storm Chasers, students investigate clouds, wind, rain, lightning, thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, and other fascinating weather phenomena. They’ll uncover the clues behind changing weather, explore the forces that shape our atmosphere, and discover how scientists make sense of storms in action. Time Travelers
In this fun and imaginative class, students become time travelers on a journey through the ancient world. Along the way, they will discover rivers, deserts, mountains, and seas, and learn how these features helped shape some of the very first civilizations. From the Nile River in Egypt to the mountains of Greece and the busy trade routes of The Silk Road, each class is a new adventure to a different place in history. This class is full of hands-on fun, including art projects, map-making, building activities, and simple roleplay games. Students will even visit the famous Wonders of the Ancient World and create their own! This course is all about curiosity, creativity, and having a great time while learning about geography through the stories of the past.

In today’s fast-paced world, art can be a wonderful, peaceful haven! Mindful Art provides a relaxing and encouraging studio environment where young artists can unwind, focus, and express themselves through calming, meditative art forms. Centered around process over perfection, this course invites students to discover the therapeutic joy of creating art at their own rhythm while developing patience, mindfulness, and fine motor skills. Throughout the session, participants explore a variety of tactile, soothing artistic mediums—including diamond painting, intricate mandala designs, zen-tangle pattern drawing, watercolor color-bleeding techniques, and smooth clay modeling. Step into the world of modern digital illustration with Pixel Perfect! Designed for young creatives eager to explore digital media, this course offers step-by-step, guided instruction in Procreate, one of the industry's leading digital art programs. Students will transform their imagination into screen-ready art as they learn how to navigate digital canvases, design dynamic characters, paint vibrant landscapes, and bring their ideas to life pixels at a time. It’s the perfect blend of technology, technical skill, and creative freedom! Students need an iPad with the Procreate app pre-installed. A limited number of studio iPads are available to borrow; if a student needs to reserve an iPad for class, please notify Ms. Karen in advance.

Backstage Pass
Step into the exciting world of pop music and discover everything that happens both onstage and behind the scenes! Students will create a pop-star identity, take headshots, design album covers and fan merchandise, explore stage lighting, make instrument-inspired crafts, and discover how music creates different moods. They’ll also try songwriting, create choreography, test their pop-star trivia knowledge, and work together to plan, perform, and film short music videos. The semester wraps up with a red-carpet celebration and awards show. Students may choose performing or behind-the-scenes roles, so no singing or dancing experience is required!

Meet Henry VIII and his famous six wives, explore the clever reign of Elizabeth I, and find out what life was really like in castles, towns, and marketplaces.
