Our Team

Our teachers are masters of their own craft.

Our science teacher is a scientist, and our art teacher is an artist.

Amber Jones

Owner & Director

Amber is inspired by every aspect of this community, from the students, to the teachers, to the philosophies of education she assists in implementing every day at Lighthouse. She has worked in education since before she graduated highschool. From tutoring, to teaching preschool, to working in both private and public school settings, she has found her home in our unconventional enrichment program.

Amber knows, believes, and sees through her experience that children can and will flourish in less traditional, confined learning environments. She values self-expression, connection, growth, nature, hands-on involvement, movement, and of course arts, maths, sciences, and literature being implemented in an educational setting. Her passion for leadership, community, education, communication, and all things detail-oriented make her the perfect fit to manage The Lighthouse School.

Our Teachers

When designing course work for The Lighthouse School enrichment program, the first priority for our teachers is to teach something that lights them up. When they do this, their joy and dedication spill out into what they teach and in turn lights the kids up.

Our teachers employ interactive discussions and problem-solving exercises to offer a more engaging learning experience for students. They seek to provide students with opportunities to work both independently and with their peers and instructor to reinforce learning.

What Our Teachers Say

Looking to join our team?

We are building a community of learners that will become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

Meet Ms. Alyssa!

I’ve been married for 9 years and am a mom to 2 children, a 7yr old boy and 3 yr old girl.
I am very excited to become part of The Lighthouse School teaching team! I grew up in South Florida, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Central Florida.

My love of teaching and learning began as a child, and morphed into a career. I have taught 5 years in the school system. I hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate with many certifications  including Elementary Education, K-12 Special Education, as well as an Autism Endorsement. I love working with students “Where they are” and helping them complete their goals.

Having the chance to facilitate learning based on the child’s interests, while incorporating the topic at hand is an amazing opportunity for any teacher. I am honored to get the chance to work with the Middle School age for Social Studies and Biological Science this semester.
My hobbies include reading, crochet, fostering cats and kittens, travel and cruising!

Meet Ms. Stephanie!

My name is Stephanie Fritzshall and I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Legal Studies. I graduated from Florida State College of Law with honors. At FSU Law I focused my studies directly towards criminal law. While still in school I practiced law as a certified legal intern at the Public Defender’s Office in Leon County. After graduating, I practiced for three years as a Public Defender for Orange County. I handled both juvenile and adult cases ranging from misdemeanor to felony. I am extremely passionate about defense work and the criminal justice system as a whole. I believe it’s important to understand how this part of our government works.

Meet Ms. Alex!

I am an artist and love bringing my creativity to the classroom to create hands-on learning experiences. I want to help my students learn and explore through art as well as have the express themselves creatively. I love to have fun in the classroom and want my students to while learning! I am excited to join The Lighthouse School! I am excited to teach (and learn) from all of your students this semester!

Meet Ms. Michelle!

Meet Ms. Laura!

Laura Scialabba holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Florida and has over a decade of experience as a Senior Environmental Specialist, where she conducted environmental assessments, geologic surveys, wetland restoration projects, and excelled at technical writing. For the past seven years, she has been designing and teaching interactive science-based programs at the Oakland Nature Preserve.

An Orlando resident for 23 years, Laura enjoys a vibrant family life with her husband, two kids, two cats, and a dog. She is excited to join the Lighthouse School team, where she brings a passion for science education and an enthusiasm for providing students with hands-on learning experiences.

I’ve been a stay at home mom and working part-time as a fitness instructor, crossing guard, substitute teacher, and volunteering at my daughters schools, Auxiliary, and Give Kids the World for the last several years. I’m looking forward to teaching at Lighthouse!

I love staying busy and seeing and doing all of the things! I love going to concerts, strength training, traveling paddleboarding, movies, and reading. Friends, Fall Out Boy, ‘da Bears and Cubbies, the color purple and my Jeep are some of my favorite things.

Meet Ms. Lily!

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 28 years, and we have two wonderful sons, Dylan and Noah.

When I’m not at school, you’ll find me at the beach or tending to my plants. I’m so excited to be joining Lighthouse School and can’t wait to have fun and learn with your little ones!

Meet Ms. Christine!

I started at Lighthouse in a somewhat unconventional way – looking after Ms. Amber’s babies while their parents worked with all the wonderful students and people who make this program so special!

Coming on officially as a member of the team last semester and getting to know these kids better has been so fulfilling. Very excited for the future and making even better memories!

Meet Ms. Jennifer!

I am originally from Ohio, but I have lived in the Winter Garden/Windermere
area for over 20 years. My husband and I raised two girls that are both
attending college locally. I was fortunate to be a work-from-home mom up
until my daughters graduated from high school. This is my first experience
working with a program like the Lighthouse School and I enjoy it very much.
I have loved getting to know the students and getting more involved with
the activities at Lighthouse. I am looking forward to next semester and
getting to know all of the students better. They are a great group of kids!

Meet Ms. Ashley!

Ashley is a wife and mom of one, a lifelong history enthusiast, and a proud Orlando native. She is currently pursuing her History degree at Valencia College and brings her passion for the past into the classroom. Outside of school and teaching, Ashley enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, playing games like Civilization and Dungeons & Dragons, and exploring the Orlando Science Center with her family. Ashley loves finding ways to share her excitement for history with young learners, and is thrilled to inspire students to see history as both engaging and meaningful.
